Company History
Established in 1975, Epson America, Inc. is the U.S. affiliate of Japan-based Seiko Epson Corporation. The Epson name is derived from the EP-101, a groundbreaking electronic printer (the "EP") created to print times from official Seiko timepieces at the 1968 Tokyo Olympic Games. Subsequent consumer models based on the EP-101 were named "SON of the EP" which then
gave way to Epson.
